They need to be at least 24-30” away from the face of the artwork- is your soffit that deep? My soffit is 30” Deep so the lights are about 26” off the wall, I have standard 4” cans with 3000k led bulbs

My soffit is 7.5” x 15” from the ceiling. The art is 55”x55”. The ceiling is 107”. I bought LED recessed 3” lights. Do you think it will work?

The center of the light will end up about 12” from the wall. The light will be a raking light and will be very dramatic. It might be ok depending on the artwork.

Since they aren’t installed yet you should move them out 30” to 36”.
