What color are the walls in the. bedroom. The bathroom should be a shade lighter(this is what I read on this site)
My next recommendation is to hire a decorator/designer to help expedite your dilemma!

Paint the room one of the bright colors from the artwork - I love the turquoise!

anne dee, the bedroom walls are more of a soft brown. We haven't painted yet, that is what the previous owners chose. The wall behind the bed and across from the bed are a soft brown, the rest of the walls match the bathroom walls -- contractor beige (yuck!). I would like to hire a decorator/designer, but I did my family room and I think it turned out marvelous! It is fun to do this a little at a time, too.

Best Plumbing Tile & Stone, I love the turquoise, too, but my space is limited for those two prints. If you look at my later posts in this discussion, I am kind of leaning in a different direction. Although, I do love the pop of color, I am just not confident I can make it work and still flow with my master bedroom.

Until you determine the color of the bedroom walls yr bathroom walls will be in flux.
I believe in color flow.

Great space. You want this to be like a spa. Don't fill it with stuff. Use same colors as bedroom.

1)Paint wall to master br area, above tub area, and inset for window seat an accent color (maybe like you did in your dining room ceiling) with a shimmer.

2) Big rugs....one at each vanity. That's it.

3) Chandelier: no extras needed to put that in, unless it is weighty, then a support brace will be needed. Not expensive for an electrician to do.

4) Window seat: add a custom cushion and large pillows to fill up the back. Use indoor/outdoor fabric.

5) Get cubbies installed near vanities to place rolled towels.

You don't need any extra artwork or accessories, accept neat containers to place what you actually would use on vanities and tub.

Elegant, yet spa-like. Less is more.

I was thinking about hanging wallpaper in the inset for the window seat. What do you think? I have attached a picture of what I was considering. This paper is a champagne color and has a bit of a shimmer.

I am also torn on choosing an accent color. Below are photos of my bedding, artwork in the master bath, 3 mirrors above bed, and the actual bed we are buying. Do you have any suggestions for an accent?

I have also attached several pictures of these items, including our bedside lamp, with different wall coverings that might work behind our bed. Or do you think just painting behind the bed a nice color and then carry it into the master bathroom as you suggested would be better?

I was thinking I could use red for accents (rugs, towels, etc.) with this color. Do you think it is too much for the bedroom?

Accent walls: I am not big on them unless it seems natural. Like in your bath, it seems natural to paint those areas I suggested. In your bedroom, no accent wall.

Bed: I would not use those mirrors......esp with new bed----too many squares. You need a nice piece of artwork. In that artwork, there may be an accent color you can use. Otherwise, stay neutral.

Don't like where the bed is placed. Looks shoved in there. Can we see more pics? Is there a better place for it?

Bath: you don't need wallpaper or accent color. Keep your bed and bath spa-like. Rolled towels, neutral colors.

Can you use the mirrors in the bath somewhere or somewhere esle.

Chandelier...more I think about it, if you are going to place one above seat, it should be longer and narrower, to reflect the space. Also, should complement lights over vanities.

But, instead of over seat, what do you think of placing one over tub? You could paint area over tub accent color (deep bronze with sheen---like in your dr and then hang chandelier there. It would be focal point of bath.

cdrdesign, what do you think of the attached bronze paint color for the two areas in the bathroom that we discussed? It's Benjamin Moore 62030 Bronze Metallic Latex Glaze. It is acrylic-based glaze designed to produce beautiful metallic special effects.

What 2 areas are you accenting?

I am going to do what you suggested. The area around the bench seat at the end of the bathroom and the area directly above the tub.

Why don't you just have seat cushion covered in a terry towel fabric and accent with something that has the colour of the terry towel in it! While I believe beige is just BORING I also think it's a good neutral and you can live with beige for a lot longer than you can with accessories - whatever you do (or buy) do it because you LOVE it and the rest of us can just sit back and admire your journey!

What do you think of doing wall to master bed also.....sort of balance both ends.

I like that idea. I looked to see if there was anywhere else to put the bed and there isn't. I kind of like it there anyway. We have an amazing view of Mt. Si right off our bedroom! Anyway, I found another paint color I like which I have attached. I like both of the colors, just need to decide which one I like best. I also found a wall covering that might look good behind just the bed. It seems to match our bedding and the bronze paint color nicely. I have attached it so you could take a look.

What do you think of painting your walls in bedroom and bath a pewter color (sort of like the lighter gray shade in your bedspread)?

I like that paper, but it is a lot of swirls and then if you do artwork, I think you have too much going on.

I would just paint the wall behind your bed the same accent color as in the bath.

Another idea.....see how you have to place left lamp over drape, but not the right one? What do you think about framing the bed area out nicely by placing a drape panel behind the right lamp?

Revere pewter is what we used for the dining room. It is a beautiful color and we get a ton of compliments. I think painting behind the bed will be best.

Do you think if I did the wall covering above and left out the artwork that would look ok? I already have artwork on the side wall to the left of the bed. See attached.

Have you considering adding a little stone into your bathroom? Perhaps half of the wall or the whole wall? It will bring in muted color and some texture.

That stonework is really pretty. Are you considering putting $ in the bath itself?

Yes, with your new bed, you could leave out the artwork and just do the paper.

I just think that stonework would look awesome in that cove above the bench seat. I know it will be expensive to do though and maybe not worth the expense at this point.

The stonework would be beautiful. I would do the paint for now and consider if later if you remodel.

Personal choice on the paper. I think it is too busy with the spread and too much like it. I think you are better off getting the new bed in, seeing how you like it and then considering what you want on the wall above it. It would put art and paint it the accent color if you want.

We finally finished the little sitting area in our masterbath. We put wall covering up, bought pillows, and had a custom window seat cushion made. I am considering hanging the attached votive holder just under the window yet centered. I doubt we will ever sit on the bench so this is all for just appearance. Do you think the votive holder is too much for the area or do you think it will work? I found battery operated votives with timers that I would use.

I would not put the candle holder there. Things look odd when they don't work (you can't sit there)

What about a couple of sconces higher up by the windows on the sides?

I love those confetti pillows from Pier One. I just bought one for a window seat I had installed in my own home.

I thought about the sconces but I don't think there is enough room on each side of the window. I love the pillows too and my seat cushion is gorgeous!

Sconces would have to be very slimline.

I think, if the seat is not to be used as a seat, if it were me, I would have filled it in with a collection of green and flowering plants to add life and color to this neutral-dominated room. The room is so large you could turn it into a mini-jungle with parlor palms and other floor plants, or flowering plants in bright pinks, oranges and reds. Maybe in bright colored pots. Or hanging from the ceiling, especially around the tub -- spider plants and pothos are easy to grow (almost impossible to kill, actually). You have a lot of natural light here and plants would thrive in the light and humidity.

I think the large wall sconce would look funny over the bench, but two smaller sconces on either side of it higher up on the walls would look very nice.

Your overall color choices are safe but so overwhelmingly neutral -- I think you really need some color here. Pops of red-orange or bright blue (turquoise or cobalt?) would be really good to brighten it up.

I sympathize with you on decorating a large bathroom with an odd space. We also have a large master bath with a large corner tub that we don't even really use, we just use the shower stall. It takes up a large amount of the room, with two huge mirrors flanking it on the two walls of the corner. I'd rip it all out and put in a new built-in tiled shower in that corner if I could, and take out the shower stall and build in cabinets in that space, but a major bathroom re-do won't happen for a long time. (On the other hand, if the tub were a jacuzzi, it would definitely get use!) The countertops are malachite green and after two years here I am still not sure if I like it or not -- it's pretty but old and a bit worn looking, and really a cold color for a place you like to be warm. Still, it's nice to have a very large bathroom with potential options for making it over. I have never had one so large before!

I hope you can decide what you like and how to change the space you want changed. Hope this helps somehow!

I added it along with my bedding and other stuff in my room. The bed, nightstand, and dresser are outlined in an antique gold/silver mirror.

How does this bed compare to the bed in the earlier posts?

That is really a personal choice.....some people have a floral theme in their bedrooms. For the long term staying power, I really think the set you have now is great. Can you get it painted?

At one time CDR Design you suggested slim line sconces flanking each side of our window seat in the master bath in an earlier post. I would put one on the left side wall and one on the right side wall. Not on the sides by the window trim. What do you think about these sconces to be used for that purpose? Should I do gold or silver. I kind of have a blend of the two going on in the room. The wallpaper has a gold glitter swirl, but our fixtures our brushed nickel. It just works because of the color of the room.

You could go with a light taupe, black or grey. It really depends on if you want to keep current wall color. It's been quite a while and I can't remember.

The one thing that I think will never look good in the bedroom is how the bed is encroaching on the window area. This does not look good. Any other place for the bed?

I will have to give that some thought. I agree with you about that.

Need more photos of room to comment on the issue. If no other place options are smaller nigh stands, no nigh stands and swing-arm wall lamps, long table behind with lamps on it.

I will take some more photos tonight. The wall to the right of the picture above might be an option.

Beautiful bathroom, I love sage green with dark cabinets. Perhaps do this with your art, hang just under window, use bronze rod and chain, you could always get rod and spray paint that and chain with what coloured desired, don't have chain too long, effective
