Could you put a low bench one one side and a plant or baskets for storage on the other side?

Personally, I prefer something like this with doors that open and close to hide clutter and also hide the lamp cords etc. But it's a nice piece and goes with the flooring and wall color etc.

It's hard to speculate without seeing more of the space and other furnishings. Perhaps a pair of interesting chairs on each side? .

You need more height there. Hang the mirror vertically and get a taller, skinnier lamp.

an area rug is my first thought, then I noticed that big window frame you have leaning in the living room, and the large bookcase, maybe you could put the bookcase at the entry and the console by the fireplace?

maybe try the window frame there first. get to little ottomans under the console.

I would first try hanging your current mirror vertically, just to the right of the cute lamp. Either place a large tree/plant to one side with a large basket (with a colorful throw inside it spilling out) or flank the table with two matching chairs. If the mirror seems to be too small…try hanging that interesting window over the table. You could plays with that by sticking postcards or photos between the muntins, or placing images behind some of the panes. I would probably still go with a large plant, at least, beside the table. Try the window frame next to the console. It would be the easiest change. A faux fern in a basket to the left of console just on front of the frame.

If you don't routinely use all 6 of those dining chairs, you might try one to the left of the console with a pretty pillow. They may be too deep, but might work if angled toward that corner wall. Then something asymetrical with height toward the right of the table.

What about switching the table and the etagere left of the fireplace? Then hang art above the table next to the fireplace, since it looks like you're planning for TV above it.

You could even do two tall floor vases with tall plants on each side of that table if you don’t want to get a new one?

My mil has three long shelves (almost full length of the wall) on her long entry wall. She uses them to display family photos. She uses a bench under the shelves as a temporary drop zone. Where your entry looks right into your gathering room, that seems appropriate for the entry wall.

Changed it up. Moved shelving unit to entry wall and flanked with pictures (need to add pics). Thinking potted plant on one side and basket with dog toys on other. Should I move frames to start at top of shelving unit or ok where it is about 6 inches below?

Taking a picture from further back would help show the whole entry wall. This is a pretty tight view. IMO, the shelving is too busy. Did you try any of the other early suggestions, like propping the window or rotating the mirror? The table has more potential for a serene, welcoming vibe, I think. A potted plant would be a great addition to either option.
