It's hard to tell because of lighting, but it looks as if your walls are yellow or slightly orange? You need art over the sofa...Something with both warm and cool colors would be great...seeing the fish I can tell you like the ocean:

Ok...onward. The fireplace is very nice, but it is lost to too much clutter...let the brick shine more....only have one or two accents on the mantel. Hang a mirror over if it will reflect something nice...a nice round mirror could break up all of the square lines:

I flipped your pic for you. On the fireplace, are those candles? Try grouping them in two groups on either side of the mirror, you'll have a less cluttered look. And a much larger mirror will help too.
