I am helping our golf club update our clubhouse. We currently have a large stone fireplace and wanted to paint or white-wash it an off-white color. A couple of the members think the stone is granite and is too porous to paint. Does anyone have experience or expertise in this? If not paint, what would you do to this fireplace to modernize it?
