Can't help you but I think I am with your DH on this. Fish soup does not sound appealing to me at all.

It is close but the recipe I am looking for had diced, seeded tomato in it and I do not hink it had peppers in it. t definitely did not have sour cream.

I cannot figure out how to copy and paste on my I pad, but search for fish stew with fennel and orange and saffron. I hit one from Drs review that looks like it hit all the ingredients. The title is "Fish Soup with Orange and Fennel.

You're welcome. A blogger told me a few years ago that you can legally post the exact same ingredients on your blog, but you need to change the wording of the directions or comments and you cannot use their photos.

I have found that you can find older recipes, that the magazines have dropped, frequently on other sites.

Lone Jack, I admit I never thought fish soup sounded appealing until I tried some when we did a cooking class in Bali. It was delicious! Then I tried another Balinese fish soup which was quite different to the first one, and that was delicious too :-)

I didn't open this thread for a long time because I saw "fish soup" and thought..blech! I love fish, I like clam chowder and I make a seafood stew that I love, but something about fish soup sounds really unappealing to me.
But then I decided to peek and saw the recipe with fennel, orange and some tomato and my blech turned to yum! I've got all the ingredients on my shopping list to try it. Thanks for posting this and I'm glad you found the recipe!

Here's my recipe. It doesn't have fennel, saffron and orange peel but they could be added. (I add fennel when I make it). It is delish but much more complex than some of the others posted.

I too thought the idea of fish stew with tomatoes was not so great, I found out better when hubs made some and I tasted it. I also thought "spaghetti with tuna" would not be good either, but I tried it and now I love it. The recipe came out of a Jewish Italian cookbook by Joan Nathan.

Last night I made the recipe from the link Sherry provided. We have a winner!

Full disclosure, I used haddock, fish stock. I adjusted ingredient amounts as I cooked. I used diced, seeded, fresh tomatoes and more garlic. Actually I added roasted garlic in addtion to the fresh. I love garlic. LOL

Oh and I skipped the Gremolata and garnished with some fresh parsley.

Mine was homemade. I make stocks and freeze them so I pulled one out of the freezer. It was a combo of scallop and fish stock.

olychick, would you kindly post your recipe for seafood stew?
