You need an aactul cabinet refinisher not a regular painter and if changing hardware is the plan then all the old holes need to be filled and sanded to have a blank slate for the hardware and BTW I would wait until the cabinets are finished before deciding on the hardware. all other elements need to be in and all the lighting addressed even before choosing wall color. I like all LED bulbs 4000K to make all decisions BTW
