Love your house and all the color and amazing natural light! I am having trouble picturing a cooler wall color in your home - but hopefully one of the color experts will chime in

No suggestions for you but man you have a gorgeous house! The rich, saturated earthy colors look good in your house -- are you sure you want to transition your house in the totally opposite direction? Your new green sofa will go just fine -- green goes with pretty much anything, it's hard to screw that up.

i agree you have a lovely home. I just love the dining/living room colors. I have a very similar pale yellow to what you have throughout my home. Mine feels very dated to me. I am planning to paint it. I like the thought of a soft neutral white/ off-white- in your home I think that would be gorgeous and maybe you can keep some of the deep yellow walls.

Looks like your trims are all white but he kitchen cabs appear to be more of an almond color. I love yellow, but find the golden room a bit too intense. Here's a pretty combo believed to be Navajo White walls and White Dove trim. If you still have your samples, paint a smaller square in the center of white poster board and leave a wider border so the wall color doesn't impinge on the sample. Move them around at all times of the day and under all of your lighting & weather conditions to make sure they don't change to something you don't care for.

The Navajo white and white dove combo is indeed beautiful. It works so well with the paneling and dark hand rail! Wonder if it will look as good in a open floor plan California house. I guess I was trying the paint color incorrectly! I will retry with a wider border! Thank you!

I was also thinking a warm white but think it might be worth getting a virtual color consult with Maria Killam - youre facing a big color decision and it would be worth the investment to get it exactly right - lovely home!

I'm no help with the paint colors, but wanted to say I really enjoyed seeing your dog pics...Sheltie? We had an adorable female Sheltie, kind of tiny at 15-18 pounds, but such a wonderful companion so Sheltie pics always pull at my heartstrings. Enjoy your lovely home and your pup.

I’m not sure if this will help, but here is how a professional choose my wall color. They used the paint deck to match the closest paint color of the trim, counter, cabinets and floors. Laying those all together, the undertones were apparent and a few paint strips just “went with” the permanent features. Then we made large samples with white borders and looked at them all during the day. Your home is going to look amazing!

Your house looks great. Why would you ever want to keep up with trends, which right now, is white everything. Much nicer to see a house with color and personality, than a white hospital like look.

I have many of the same colors in my house as you show in yours. I have BM Swiss Coffee in my living room, dining area and all hallways. It is a lovely color. I have lots of art on these walls and the paint color is a good background for all. If you want to "update your look" i would remove the green valances in the gold room. You do not need anything on these windows. I also think you need more lamps in your rooms; and some of the art is hung way to high; art should be at eye level...

You have a lovely home with beautiful floors and very nice furnishings. If you are planning on repainting the whole interior then save yourself the $$ and aggravation of buying samples; hire a color consultant. I’m not in favor of cutting colors to try and get the” perfect “ color! Either find the right color or hire a professional to mix a custom color for you. Your cabinets are Barely Beige. This is a nice neutral although will be quite light in your space. BTW., most of the colors you are showing appear rather pink on my screen. You may be subconsciously doing this to counter what you perceive to be green in the colors you are seeing! You have a lot of strong, warm color on the walls now which will influence whatever you think you are seeing. Also lots of windows with natural light! There are too many variables for anyone here to give you the right advice. You need a professional standing in your space!

Hello all, thank you so much for all the insight. One problem is that I don't want to spend the money all at once so do the flooring one year, then the kitchen cabinets the next year, etc. etc. And materials and trends change and nothing works together anymore. I now know that I need a professional who will actually come to the house and give advice. The yellow looks much yellower in the pictures, monitors seem to show the colors as pink! Yikes! Am afraid of white for those large walls with no architectural details to make them interesting. I do have recessed lighting for ambient lighting at night and will change out the floor lamp once the sofa actually gets here. My husband is suggesting to at least change the base boards to get a more updated look but then again I will need to decide on a color and will end up spending hundreds more. Another decision is what to do with the stair railing and banister! All white? The painter said he can paint over but not do a stain. I think I have to just hire a professional,
