Bev, I‘m so happy it’s not YOU with the bleeding problem! My only suggestion would be Rit Color Remover, though that may remove colors you want to keep.

I’ve never used them before, but I’m washing my current project’s fabrics again with a “color catcher” just to be safe.

My first thought when reading your subject line was ”rotary cutter gone wild.” I’m so glad I was wrong.

Yes, thankfully it is not me. I did use 4 color catchers. I always use several just to be sure. In my longer post that didn't make it I explained I usually make scrap quilts from donated smaller pieces of fabric. I don't wash them to avoid the raveling. But then I forgot to wash the fabric when I actually buy fabric, as I did for this gift. Fortunately the sail stayed white, although the red boat now looks muddy. I won't mention it when I give it to my friend and she won't be the wiser. Although the red boat really looked so much nicer. I try now not to self-criticize, especially when I am giving a gift. I did wonder if I should was the quilt again, just to make sure all the dye is out. Thoughts?

I use color catchers as well. They are inexpensive and work great.

Here's the quilt. My friend loved it! You can't see the quilting, but it was my usual squiggly line with hearts. I didn't take the time to see why it came out larger than the pattern. As I numbered the blocks on the pattern, so I know I had the right amount. Funny, looking at the picture the strips don't all look straight, but they were.

It is a beautiful quilt.

The red sailboat is as red as any sailboat could ever wish to be!

Are the squares foundation-pieced with strips of blue and green fabrics?

Thanks, Theresa. I was ready for the binding and was going to cut it out of one of the light colors and at the last minute I thought to make is scrappy and graduate those colors as well. Maybe the pattern suggested that, but I don't remember it and haven't checked.
