In looking at the plan, the width of the room is 12' and the depth from the closest end of the sofa to the window wall is about 16'. It is hard to see, but note that the cabinetry on the right side wall is angled, narrow at the window and widest in the foreground. This was a trick to create a kind of forced perspective in the space which highlighted the view.
