Hi all, would love any comments/feedback on the design below. What are we missing? What would be better? Thanks in advance.

Your work zones look good. Do you have a pantry?

ETA, have you sourced stone for the island? At that size you might need a seam.

I'm sure you'll get some comments about the bathroom door in the kitchen, but it looks as if there's no alternative, if the pr is between a stairwell and a living area.

    "Bumping!"

    After an hour?

Thanks, mamagoose. It's an 1890 house, so, yep, no option to move that existing bathroom.

We haven't yet sourced the stone--still deciding the cabinet colors--thanks for the note about the seam.

Slapped this together really quick. My professional opinion, this is an okay kitchen layout. Having the fridge without clear path is unfortunate. range is pinched. Quite a few things out of balance for me. Ovens are in a strange spot.

Thanks so much, Rabbitt Design! We are constrained by the footprint. Any suggestions to make it more in balance?

Thanks, Carrie B. Have to check whether it would fit. . .

I know you can't relocate the pr but I wonder if it would be a good idea to change the swing of the door. That way if it's left open, it's hiding the toilet.

Holy fat dimension lines Batman! Sometimes converting *dwgs to *pdfs does that.

Designate your operable slider panels, right now it looks like the one next to oven (and middle) is the sliding one - if this is the only back yard circulation the panel closer to the stair should probably be the pathway.

The Powder door is unfortunate. If there were soffits I would certainly slide it down to under a soffit, even if losing the built-ins.

Huh, thanks for the catch on the slider panels, 3onthetree. I don't think we have yet designated, and I hadn't even thought about that. Makes complete sense to have the far one be the sliding one. . .

It looks really good. The tiny little thorn is the fridge placement. For workflow, it would be better swapped with the ovens, as Carrie B recommended. On the other hand, having it where you do allows the microwave to be near the fridge, with an island landing zone, and that's a great thing to have. I don't think you can easily fit the microwave and the fridge over on the slider side of the kitchen. This is one of those hard call kind of tradeoffs.

I like the fridge location. Keeping it on that side makes it much more convenient for anyone entering from the living areas (dark blue lines), and allows a separate clean-up zone (light blue oval). If dishes are kept in the drawers on the island, across from the DW, helpers can load or unload the DW, or gather dishes to set the table, without entering the prep and cooking zones. I don't think there's a problem with the flow between the fridge, sink, and range.

I see the point about reversing the swing on the PR door, but that seems a little awkward.

I can't read all the notations on the cabinets, but I'd suggest using as many drawer bases as possible. rather than roll-outs; with drawers you don't have to first open a door, then pull-out the shelf.

Thanks, mcarroll and thanks again, mamagoose. That was exactly our designer's thinking about the fridge location, and the drawers on the island across from the dishwasher are designated peg for dishes. the only pullouts are the smaller cabinets on either side of the range top; I'm a big fan of drawers, too.
