Comfortable chairs that complement the sofa. Many people have a configuration of a sofa plus two chairs but you can really have more chairs if that works for the room and you need the seating.

It is also standard to not "match" chairs to a sofa so you can have fun with the upholstery on the chair.

In my opinion chairs are a nice option because no one wants the middle seat on a sofa so a comfortable chair is actually more functional. You can get recliners if you like if you want to have a super comfortable viewing place - they make ones that are more attractive than the standard blobs if aesthetics are important to you.

Here are a couple pix of our AV area. We can seat 5 without bringing in additional seating. Space is roughly 12x12, 48” screen. Comfortable for just us two or with grandkids

Looks to be a high traffic area. I think that's where I would have put the bar, with the media section more isolated in the other part of your two spaces.
