Best piece of advice I fielded was to color-code my identical twins. No one ever has to ask or answer the question "which one are you?" When #3 son came along, he was jealous and wanted his own color, too, so he became our green man. By the time I got pregnant with #4, no one even bothered asking if it was a boy-- they just wanted to know what his color was going to be. And now he's my little mello yellow.

We are starting almost fresh with each boy's room and I had I think the clever idea of incorporating each child's color into his room (versus what they'd do if I let them which is to paint the walls, ceiling, trim and then buy all furniture and textiles in the same color oh yes they would). But I don't want these items to be just for the sake of being. I want EPICALLY cool items. Like an insane red lacquer waterfall desk from 1972. Wouldn't that be so cool? I mean I haven't found one that would be so cool right?

Anyway, if you've ever seen an item in red (age 9), blue (age 9), green (age 5) or yellow (age 2) that is cool enough to fit the bill, please post it here. The only thing we already own are Brompton leather divan beds for each twin. If expensive, then I'd like it to stand the test of time (ie still be cool at least through at least their teen years).
