Replacement Windows

last modified: 4 years ago

I have spent a considerable amount of time reading comments on this site as well as other sites regarding replacement windows. I need to replace 6-8 casement windows in my 30 year old home. I am located in Kansas and these windows face south - existing windows have taken a beating. I have bids for Marvin Essential and Anderson 100 series windows which are 1,000 apart. I want to be able to paint them and am looking at fiberglass. A few businesses/people on this site recommend OKNA however they don't have a dealer near me and it appears they are vinyl and I want to paint the exterior or purchase a color and later paint my house to match. I read a good review of Fibertec but I would have hire my own installer after having them shipped to me - sounds like too many moving parts etc.. What brands and series do you recommend that are not Vinyl that are good energy efficient windows?
