I want to refinish my exterior side door when the weather breaks. i am not sure what kind of wood it is though. The inside of the door has layers and layers of paint. the outside is heavily weathered. it has a small leaded glass window. it is at least from the 1950’s and it is very heavy. i suspect it is mostly solid wood, but panels seem thinner and the pictures of door edges look like pieces of a puzzle.

Any advice appreciated on what wood this might be so I can try to do something with it. I would like to save it rather than replace it.
