I have both screens - standard and truscreen in the same room. The truscreens have a tighter weave and are barely visible. I keep them in all year long. I plan to replace the standard screen this year - which is on a different wall. I had sticker shock as well and I was only buying two screens. The truscreens are part of a picture window combination with a nice view. You could just splurge on a few windows.

I'm with SD. I got a price for the TruScene when I was installing my windows ten years ago - and decided that it was too much money. I've only ever put screens in less than half of the windows in the house - BUT I wish that I had gotten them for the two windows that look out from the living room to the backyard.

Now that many of the window distributors have dropped Andersen - would I go to Home Depot to get replacement TruScene screens - has anyone tried that path? Or maybe just go to a window/screen repair shop and have them built?

Wow - maybe getting them afterwards from Andersen isn't a reasonable option!

We had them installed with our Andersen windows at our previous house and they really are almost completely transparent. If you have a window with a view they are definitely worth it.

I'm about to order both types from Anderson, since I didn't want them at the time of the installation. Now when I finally started living in my new home I see what and where I want. However, the fact thta the "True" doesn't let in even the tinniest insect is something I have to consider and , perhaps order all of the screens I want in True. Also, the air flow is significantly better.
