Picture of the whole stairway please.

The staircase to our second floor has fir treads. When we moved in, they were covered with a thin carpet- the kind you would put in an office for durability. When we took the carpet out, we fpund that someone had painted the stairs a blue that was best described as a bright navy. I swear that paint was marine grade.

We hired it out. We melted/sanded/ stained the side trim, but we weren’t going to touch that blue paint. The floor folks convinced us to put a fir veneer on the risers as they were pretty beat up. You can’t tell that they are veneer.
