Is that area for parking cars? If not, work on landscaping. If so, consider if the proposed tiles with support the weight of cars.

The tiles are porcelain so they will be able to support cars. I have some large pots for greenery and there is a lawn of the same size to the right of the picture. One of the things I am wondering is whether all tiles will look OK or do I need to incorporate a different type of hardscape for it to look good.

More greenery, less cement.

Ideally, you would offset the driveway from the former garage, to help it look less like a former garage. But if you're going to keep a stretch of drive, I'd use pavers, to separate it from more of a "patio" section with tiles. But if the tiles really are hardy, they'd probably look real festive too. Depends on the tile.

I wouldn't get too carried away :-) All tiles the same or a very simple pattern. No multicolors and limit the number of shapes and sizes. Something like this would be my preferred look......

Those are the same colour that I got in 14x28 however I also got some grey as my roof and fence are both grey. I am hoping to incorporate the grey.

You could incorporate a few of the grays rather randomly. But please don't turn it into the crazy and very busy patchwork pattern of the inspiration photo. That's pretty hideous even in that very contemporary setting!
