We put this piece up....color matched the walls and pulled in the floor color.

Personally, I would not decorate the walls. I would paint them a color, so that the wainscot shines and I would also add a beautiful runner that stands out.

I would also take down the medallion above the door and add nothing there.

Add a beautiful chandelier.
