So I wrote a reply to you saying, nah don't worry it's probably just another houzz glitch, I doubt they'd be filtering out posts that mention (*name of country with blue and yellow flag*).

Except then, my reply to you didn't show up.

So it appears that yes, there is a filter when certain words are used.

This wasn't the case until very recently, I remember there were lots of mentions of (*that country*) in the previous seasonal thread, and it was showing up fine.

This is disturbing.

Both Melissa and I are in the EU, I wonder if it makes a difference if you are posting from the US? I would be interested to see what happens if a non-EU poster tries it.

It was quite slyly done in the sense that I could see my reply in the thread, but when I went back to the list of discussions, Melissa's post appeared to have no new replies. My post was, in a way, there to me, but muted to others.

Jeri, I think the same. It gives me a poorer opinion of Houzz than I already had, and I'm expressing myself with restraint. Nor do I think well of the slyness seasiderooftop notes.

Houzz has always been somewhat annoying, but they are really "upping" their obnoxious quotient, (And it shouldn't matter, in this issue where you are posting from.)

I hope someone on the forum is not flagging a post like this.

Sheila, I think it's just that Houzz must have added a setting to mute all new posts that mention said country.

What may have happened, could be that some debate arose in some other section of the Houzz forums, where someone may have flagged comments, and since they don't want to bother moderating in detail, they just decided to ban the word.

This has happened on some Reddit forums as well, where the mods decided this wasn't the place to discuss that, so they banned the word. But at least they did so openly and informed their users:

A lazy, heavy-handed and ultimately ineffective way of curtailing the issue.

Well, I added a comment to Melissa's thread about "what's going on at the farm" a about 3 hours ago, and yet Houzz is saying that the latest addition to that thread was made ( hours ago, so though I can see my post, others perhaps can't. Very disturbing.

I can confirm that your post there is not showing up, @User. The last visible post on that thread is Melissa's, 8 hours ago.

Just edit your post to replace the country name with "yellow-blue" or "you crane" or another workaround you like, and it will show up.

But I didn't even mention the country! I mentioned "the situation in "You're -up"", and Tuscany! Most of it is just me whining about how exhausted I am, lol! Will this one show up, I wonder?

I see your post here and the short one you made over there right after figinsanity's poem. So it's something in the text of that post that seems to be triggering their filter. But I really wonder what it could be. It would help if Houzz would at least tell us the rules.

I thought this was just a glitch but maybe not. There have been numerous threads in the past that people have flag that were taken down. This happens on the garden.ORG also. Ridiculous.

And WHY, I ask,WHY? Somebody just doesn't like the poster? But if so, why doesn't this troll flag all of my posts?

Well, I just tried re-posting it on a new thread about the equinox, on Roses Antique Roses, and Other. So far it hasn't shown up. But thank you all most heartily for your solidarity!

I'm sorry you've had such a frustrating experience, bart. Have you contacted Houzz to try and find out exactly why your post isn't showing up?
