Doesn't GE still advertise having its guaranteed fit warranty?

This is not as uncommon as one would think. It is why I won't cut new cutouts for ranges unless the range is on site. Two trips and getting paid once is no way to run a business.

It may be easier for your cabinetmaker and countertop installer to find a 1/4" than it is to order another appliance which may or may not fit.

Yes, they still have a warranty, but I may have to wait forever for a new identical stove. The quartz does not need to be trimmed. The bottom of the stove is the problem. It is 3/8” wider than the top. The dealership is “working on it”.

Is the side loose? Maybe it was assembled wrong.

The ONLY time in 20 years I have ever dealt with an incorrect appliance measurement was with a GE refrigerator. We ordered a replacement and it was also wider than the spec sheet indicated it should be. As a designer and cabinet dealer, having precise appliance specs is so important. GE can make an incredible appliance, but if they cannot reconcile the actual size with their written specs, they are not worth ordering.

IN many years...had two appliances bow out in the middle. One was a refrigerator the other was an over the range microwave. Was a PITA both times!

The side of stove was not loose. I can bet it was assembled incorrectly.

The dealer has the stove now. I wonder what their solution will be. I told them I will NOT be waiting another 9 months.

There is no market for a replacement range that is beyond standard 24, 30, 36, 48 except "heavily discounted"

You don't WANT to and you shouldn't HAVE to, but can the cabinetry be shaved without visible damage?
