Will this produce variegated leaves at some point?

I won this node in a raffle in a local houseplant sales group, and the first leaf it's grown is completely green :(
I know the all green leaf is great for photosynthesis for the plant - but if the first leaf is solid green, does that mean each new leaf will be green as well?
There's marbling on the part of the stem it grew from, but even the sheath it came out of was almost completely green as well.
I was really hoping this would turn into my wishlist plant, because the last 2 nodes I bought showed up in my mailbox already black and mushy! I've had the worst luck with these, and about to call it quits as I can't spend anymore money on these elusive dream plants.
