We are in the framing stage of a new build. Our architect has designed 5ft windows with 2ft transoms in our family room. The top of the window is to end at 8'11 1/2 with a 10ft ceiling. We were hoping to incorporate coffered ceilings, but given the space limitations, we don't know whether we should reduce the size of our transoms to 22" to allow for an 8" coffered box and 3 3/4" window casing or if there are other options ie reduce the coffered box or drop the windows. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
