Ha! The closest I got to a beach was an hour at a wedding at The Dana in San Diego. But you have me longing to revisit my favorite beach in the world: Cadaques. The hotelier in Monterosso said, "If you like Cinque Terre, Cadaques will be a dream for you." It still is.

We've just returned from 5 days in Turks and Caicos. LOVED it, I told my husband that we had a serious problem because I could get used to living like that in a heart beat.

Instead of going on vacation, we are working on some outdoor fireplaces and decks for our clients-that way, you can have your own little vacation spot every day!

I've been at the beach all summer and must go back to real life next week. Love the sea and sand!! :)

My husband and I just got back from 2 weeks in New Brunswick and Cape Breton. The weather was fabulous and the views spectacular. So many things to do, never enough time. I'm already planning next year's trip! The prettiest part of the trip is driving north on the TransCanada through to Quebec City. I can just imagine what it would be like in the fall. I highly recommend everyone going there.

Just returned from visiting a friend from first grade who lives in Berlin, MD (where the movie Runaway Bride was filmed) on the Eastern Shore near Ocean City. We took a day trip to Chincoteague which is famous for the yearly corralling of the wild ponies. Here's a pic from our lunch spot. Planning to visit my brother in Sept who lives on Estero Beach Fl. Finally spending a few days in Rehoboth Beach DE with hubby for our 35th wedding anniversary in October! Life is good!

Sucks to say that I live in FL and have not been to the beach in a while but do plan a visit to South Beach this weekend with friends.

If going to Nova Scotia, you must drive the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island. It is breath taking and will take your breath away when, nearing the top, you look straight down from the side of the roads. This year, only day trips, new floors, new central air, new paint, some new furniture have prevented me from taking long holidays.

Due to our cat we only travel once a year. For less than three weeks we stay in Europe and fly to southern Spain, but if we have more than that (we have six weeks off each year) we fly to NE or SW Florida. Our next trip will be to Estero Island/ Fort Myers Beach where we have rented a canal front home over Christmas and New Year. I'm already looking forward to it. :)

We did Sri Lanka last year. It's a gorgeous, fascinating place. The roads are crowded and narrow, so getting anywhere takes 3 times as long as you expect, meaning we didn't get to see as much as we expected. But I really recommend it. The people were friendly, the food good and even without getting to the rainforest, we saw all sorts of wild parrots, monkey at temples, giant squirrels and 3 foot long monitor lizards. The ocean is warm and very full of surf -- a surf-boarder's paradise. And in the wee hours of the morning, if you stay in the right place, you can see tortoises coming ashore to lay their eggs.

Lake George, NY is our beloved destination. My husband, the dog, a log cabin on the lake - heaven!

I've been on the Sunshine Coast in B.C. For the past three months and swimming every day, hence not much activity on Houzz, however, as September approaches and cooler weather arrives this will change. New projects starting, can't wait to share! Meanwhile still enjoying the sun, sand, swimming in clean clear ocean and great beachcombing!

Here in sunny Southern California we can go to the beach any time we want but I do dream of one more trip to Vancouver Island, I loved it there!... Raisa

It certainly is, Susan! It must be a great place for creative people to live and get inspired by the surroundings. We loved the city of Vancouver too, had a great time there and brought tons of pictures which we are still processing :)... Raisa
