Replacement installed. I am notsure about full framed or inserts as I didnt realize there are 2 types of replacement

Yes, full framed would typically mean pulling back siding and removing interior trim as the frame would have a nailing flange (so needs to be applied to the sheathing). If insert I would look to Okna, Softlite, or Sunrise in the Northeast. You may even ask the same guys about the full framed with a fin as well.

If you are looking at fiberglass and composite options, you should have access to the Starmark EVO composite in the Northeast. Blows away every thermal and structural rating of the Infinity.

As far as keeping heat out, that will be more a function of the glass choice. Most manufacturers regardless of material will have a low solar heat gain package available. If your current windows have no low e at all, the standard package will likely be all you need, but if is an extreme situation there are certainly options. Your window choice itself will be more important when it comes to keeping the cold out and warm air in.

If vinyl is an option, MWM offered a nice list of choices, and you should definitely consider your installation options as well.
