I had Lonicera sempervirens (species) for many years, it was finally killed by several late frosts. I would cut it back every year to the base and it would grow around 15' every year. No fertilizer, nothing. This is not a plant that you would divide as far as I know, the base is quite woody.

I loved it, the hummingbirds loved it.

How many you order depends on the size of the arbor.

Most woody vines like honeysuckle are more like trees and shrubs with a single trunk-like base rather than multistemmed perennials and are not divided. How many to plant would be a factor of how big your pergola is but unless it is very generously sized, I wouldn't do one at each post, but probably just two at opposing diagonals.

I think that mine is aluminum, though, instead of steel. Two of us were able to pick it up and move it across the yard, so it's fairly light.

I originally bought it to give a little shade to my veggie garden. Over time we moved it to a rock patio sitting area and removed the burlap-ish cover, but that cover is still here... somewhere.

The size is 8' x 8' x 8'. The legs are smooth, though, so I've never been able to get anything to climb it before.

sometimes there might be two plant in a pot.. and they could be SEPARATED ... but not split..nor divided ....

in this case.. words mean things ... we'll get you up to speed on the lingo ... dont worry about that ...

my usual caveat is diversity ... in case something happens to one.. you dont lose all 4 at once.. having to start over .... and also ... too much of anything is just boring ... find something that blooms at a different time.. otherwise.. you will have great bloom for a week or two .. and then boring green for the rest of the year ... and dont get hooked on the marketing nonsense of this is the longest blooming whatever ... think about that.. that doesnt mean anything.. it surely doesnt mean all summer or some such ...

find a fall blooming vine.. a early spring blooming vine.. and this mid summer vine.. spread your flowering season.. like you should do in the rest of the garden ... [avoid autumn sweet clematis though]....

Major Wheeler starts blooming for me in mid May in zone 5 Indiana, and does bloom literally all summer. It covers my chain link fence in glorious blooms for probably three months. I was walking the fence line earlier this week and its leafing out now. Highly recommend for a native vine. I agree in general about diversity, though.
