ductwork for island downdraft hood

I purchased Elica downdraft hood for my Whirlpool induction hob on my island.

The bottom drawer is 1 cm in the opening of iof the where the ducting would start. We don’t want to lose the drawer space. Is there any suggestions on how to do the ductwork - is ductwork even needed as there is lots of open space behind the drawers in the island cavity and there is a vent in the plinth already.

I have no idea what does the install instructions say and if you want help here we need pictures of the issue. You do know this ducting has to go to the outside of the house ? This goes behind the cooktop so I have no idea how it has any effect on the drawer since that needed to be designed to handle the downdraft

Downdrafts are bulky things that require a large amount of space. And they are useless. Regain the huge amount of lost space and get actual ventilation performance from an ovwrhead vent.
