Ooooh. I missed that thread. That flatware is NICE.

Me either! I’ve got to see today if the florist is going to be able to get potted tulips (see below). If not, it is going to change the whole thing.

The hot pink napkins are washed and awaiting ironing.

Check with your grocery store floral department, Lowes, etc. I've seen quite a few potted tulips this past week or so!

Are there a lot of Bee fans here? I love all the Bee items that have been posted.

Bb, I remember the topic about the bowl but I forgot what it was about. lol Are you having a dinner? Easter?

Swoon! I love everything about this! (Do you remember my desperate search for these plates when I was getting married? Sadly they were discontinued.)

Jo, I do remember the plates you were searching for back then. I must have missed the search for the flatware recently, but do remember the pink napkin discussion. Glad they are on the way, bbstx.

@Oakley, it is my turn to host our cookbook club luncheon.

@Tina Marie, my luncheon is 2 weeks away. Hope they still have tulips then!

I posted mainly because I thought there were several others who also bought the flatware. I was giving them a heads-up that mine, at least, has shipped.

    Back to the ironing board….👎

I”m sure you will find something. I never realized bee items were so popular?!

    exciting!

I have bee upholstery on my DR chairs (stored in my basement since they are too formal for CT). I was so excited to see the very same fabric on chairs in Seaside.

If you can't do potted tulips, could you use cut ones in frogs, and then fill moss around them?

    What's on your menu?

We are changing our format. For the last 7 or so years, we’ve bought a cookbook at the beginning of the year. Each meal had to be totally prepared from recipes in that cookbook. This year we got a ringer of a cookbook and no one likes it. So, we are going from being a cookbook group to a cooking group where we can choose a recipe from any cookbook we have. We will still prepare within our assigned category/course.

As the hostess, I am responsible for the main dish. I am preparing sous vide cooked pork chops from Kenji Lopez-Alt’s The Food Lab. The woman preparing the side dish is making turnip and greens gratin from Vivian Howard’s Deep Run Roots.

I saw an online recipe for a sauce that is a jar of Bonne Maman Cherry Preserves cooked with red wine vinegar. I may pass that.

I haven’t been told yet what the appetizer, salad or dessert will be.

Re: Bees. My headboard used to be upholstered in bee fabric. The seat of a small Victorian side chair was upholstered in the same fabric. The headboard is long gone but the small chair is still in use in the guest room.

Oh I remember this flatware! I had to talk myself out of ordering it.

Now that I've been looking at it again in the site, I am reconsidering.............

I got an email today notifying me that I should receive my Bee flatware on April 2. Very excited (for no particular reason except I'm dying for some Springtime here in Wisconsin).

The bee flatware is gorgeous and I hope the real life product looks as wonderful as the picture. I also had to talk myself out of it, but may reconsider. Please do post yours upon arrival.

I'm looking forward to a review of the flatware. I am considering it for my daughter whose name means wild bee. She is on the cusp of moving out and I thought it would be a perfect getting started gift for her.

I LOVE the bee flatware! It's really cool! We have an old fashioned bar here called The Golden Bee. They sell yards of beer, have sing alongs....and ....give everyone who enters an embroideried bee, with a sticky back. I have 3!

Yesterday, I was in Hobby Lobby buying V-nails....and saw THIS Bee Pillow. So cute!

I actually purchased THIS magnetic pin dish...I always buy more than I came in for. ✂️(On sale for $1!) I didn't realize it was magnetic! I'll go back and get 2 more...I have 2 sewing tables and they'd make a great little hostess gift for a sewer.

Love the magnetic pin dish. Whenever I sew, I worry about losing pins! Usually I’m in the breakfast room and the rug it seagrass. A pin could easily get lost in there! Last time, I put a magnet next to my machine to put the pins on. The dish is cuter!

I can't wait to get my flatware too. So excited it's coming early.

BTW, I am the oddball who kept the AS napkins. Laundering them changed nothing. They are still very burlapish and huge (but fine for my purposes.)

Just got the box now! Pictures this afternoon.

@Zalco/bring back Sophie!, I was out of town when my shipment arrived. I just saw them yesterday afternoon. I have only opened the box and looked. I am very much on the fence about keeping them or sending them back. Are you going to keep the flatware?

I am bbstx, but only because it's for my husband's Austin place. I never buy cute, kinda disposable stuff normally, but this Austin house is getting way more use than anyone expected and this flatware is fine for that and then it can go to a son's first apartment in the near future.

I do not like the depression on the obverse and the overall design is a bit cartoonish, but I knew that going in. The flatware is cute, would be great for a picnic basket, nice for outdoor use in the garden, but no, not serious.

Because I have no one for it to ”roll down hill” to, I think I’m just going to return it. Fortunately, I used PayPal to purchase it. It will pay up to $30 for return shipping!

I like your Blue Willow with your pink napkins!

Bbstx, I stole the pink and blue idea from you :-)

My everyday silver at home showed up on my Twitter feed, it's Minuet by International, apparently the service used by the Nixon WH. I am attaching a picture so you can see how sober it is why a little whimsy in Austin is fun for me.

Googled for International Minuet. What a lovely, classic pattern you have! My sterling is Eloquence by Lunt, which I’ve been told was chosen by Tricia Nixon. 😂 My everyday flatware is Gorham Shell stainless. There is nothing wrong with it and I still like it. I bought the Napoleon Bee strictly on a whim.
