The backlit ones are really more of a mood lighting option in my opinion - many of the front lit ones were also quite dim when I looked, although I guess it also depends on the proportions of the mirror. I was really impressed with the Electric Mirror brand, they are pricey but had really nice color temperature/CRI and brightness when I saw them at a showroom.

thank you, @Vinnova, the 24" round mirror might work well. How many lumens is this model and can it be installed with a wall switch and dimmer?

For this mirror, there are 3 settings: 3000K/4000K/6000K

And yes it can be installed with a wall switch as the power source is hardwired so you can turn it on and off by using your wall switch.

However, you could only change the 3 different light settings by touch as shown in the video of the product listing.

If you get that Vinnova mirror (or any light whose color temperature control is not a physical switch) and connect it to a wall switch, be SURE it remembers the color temperature setting when it's turned off. You don't want to have to reset the color temperature each time you turn the light back on.

You might want to look it up in the link Vinnova gave you to see if it lists lumens. The numbers given in their answer to you gives you the color temperatures (how white/cool vs. yellow/warm)the mirror can be set at.
