What happens if I get  the lemon tree to produce the first year after the first of planting from seed

It will take 10 years for a seed grown lemon tree to flower and fruit.

 Can sometimes  they get  producing fruit  at one year from be grown seeds

 I need to get out of here

You do not have the equipment needed for accelerated growth. I do for 1 year and I get 3 years worth of growth in that 1 year. I would need to get 9 years in 3 years do get fruit in little over 3 years. You need to get out of there.

My grandma  keissling   grew a citrus tree from seed in a year and it flowerd  and fruit ed in  with out acellaerated growth equipment and got small fruit because she kept it in a small  pot   it never got very big

There are a few citrus varieties that can but not lemons.

For 6b you'd have to backcross a Citremon (Meyer x poncirus or some such plant) to Poncirus and plant those seeds...

Another way you would start off with thousands of citremon seeds, dunno where you'd get those, and do a mass planting outdoors... after winter look for very hardy survivor out of the mass casualties. Fruit would have to ripen early in your zone too, you'd be waiting many years to see what the fruit is like.

Based on your past posts it's not very feasible if you're growing 1 seed in a pot at a time.

So just grow a normal Lisbon lemon and bring it inside for the winter like everybody else who grows lemons in the north.

But I'm not everyone else I'm me  and I want some thing to take the cold out side here in northeastern kentucky

The closest we have in edible citrus that can grow in 6b is the Changsha orange. It ripens before first frost. Its limited to 5F at coldest.

Howard! You can learn to like oranges. How long is your growing season. That can be measured from when your catalpa trees and trees of heaven come out to when the first frost comes in fall.

 I won't settle for oranges  for they are way too sweet for me even grapefruit is too sweet for me

I'm sorry Martin. I trialed two different Ichang papeda plants in zone 8, the Pacific Northwest, they seemed to be surviving but this winter they were killed down to almost the base. The Sudachi did survive, but it was bent down and insulated under the weight of the snow. It did keep some of its leaves but looks scruffy and not the best.

I thought you said before I chang plants would handle my climate apparently you were wrong but right now I'm not growing any thing but I will be again growing lemons in kentucky near frankfort kentucky  same planting zone

Bergamot sour orange trees are not lemons and  won't settle for less not even  meyer lemons but true lemons is only what I will settle for

What is wrong with buying lemons at the store and growing something that grow in your area.

See  I want to grow  lemons and keep my trees outside for the winter
