Can you post a picture of your space? The wall color not only needs to take in consideration the cabinet color, but also the flooring and countertop material. Is the room open to other spaces? If so we need to see what joins the kitchen to create a flow of color for cohesive transitions. In general, some folks are moving away from gray. Consider the floor and countertop colors first. The fixed elements (items that can’t be easily changed (like floors and countertops) dictate what colors harmonize for a total picture. There are so many paint colors. While you may like a specific gray and think it will be perfect in your kitchen, the color may have undertones that clash with the existing fixed items. A different gray with a different undertone might be perfect. So, remain open to adjusting the color to achieve a swoon worthly kitchen. However, suggestions for colors can’t be selected abstractly. Your galley kitchen has a lot of promise and if the layout if correct, it can be a very efficient one for cooking. I understand that you want your space to be light and avoid a closed in feeling. My suggestion is to get a full size floor tile, a sample of the countertop and paint a poster board with the cabinet color so that we can see how the finishes relate to each other. It is impossible to select the best paint color without visualizing the whole kitchen. Gray cabinets, gray flooring, white countertops with gray veining sounds like a lot of gray. Gray can make a pretty kitchen, but too much gray can dominate and date your kitchen. Are you going to put in a backsplash? If so, what will it be? What is the flooring that will meet up with the gray tile? How will one floor transition to the adjoining floor? Pulling all the samples will help you see whether it is too much gray and whether the undertones in the grays are compatible. A kitchen make over is expensive. You might want to think about going with timeless finishes so that it can last for years. You might want to collect some pictures from Houzz and pintrest that visuallly express the look that you are seeking and check their balance of finshes and how gray is used. Since a kitchen is a major investment, you may want to hire a color expert for an hour or two to give you an in person, unbiased discussion of your chosen finishes and to select the paint color. It would be money well spent to avoid a costly mistake.
