Where should I paint?

We bought a river cabin and are renovating. I need to paint the downstairs; this is the current painting job. Do I run the color of the walls up the walls and keep the white ceiling? Thinking of keeping the pale yellow for walls; seems to go well with knotty pine accents. Unless someone recommends another wall color. Thanks!
