your inspiration pics are a good start. bringing in color/texture and modern lighting plans can also assist. I dont see color yet. heres eclectic/ transitional/ traditional and so on. I would keep the furniture . sometimes positioning pieces in different areas and displaying them a little differently can make your new ideas work well with what you currently have. a whole house renovation means let a new interpretation of your home's infrastructure come to light. we cant know that much about it but almost anything goes today. I always think the bones of the place have to be respected but possibilities are usually quite varied. note how the last pic of a kitchen is traditional but yet light and airy and inviting and would mix with traditional furniture in adjacent spaces yet you could bring in more color and texture...they chose pattern on the wallpaper and some newer metal details......
