Did you end up using this shower pan? I’m curious too but hesitant due to lack of reviews.

So I installed this as I hate the plastic bases that are typically offered. It feels super solid, and slighty textured so you don’t slip (it has a matte finish) but looks smooth. Now they make the install look easy in their video, but it is heavy! So if you messed up it is almost impossible to get it back up to reposition. And the flange you attach to the sides feels kinda sketchy, so I would waterproof the shower floor and walls for added protection.
My issue with install was though the base edges are level, I found water is pooling in one corner (it looked flat but may have been slightly bowed in the center?) It does eventually drain, but has me concerned. Not sure how I am going to fix that as I am not ripping this out. Last bit of advice is make sure it comes shipped in the wooden box, the first one I picked up was just in the cardboard box and was in a bunch of pieces. Replacement came packed with foam in a wood case, which I had them open so I could check before leaving the store.

Would you mind providing an update on your experience... now that you're 7+ mos in?

Also interested in an update! I've been fully influenced by their social media and the display at HD. I can't figure out why it is so inexpensive except maybe a new company/lack of reviews.

I’m wrestling with installing a 60” x 42” base heavy -I have 2 people hrlping we’re having trouble getting it positioned right the plastic edges leave a 1/4 inch trough around the base which video says fill with silicone just doesn’t seem right. this base was about $900 - and im not sure about using it I don’t want leaks either or to have to tear out tile.

I’ve tiled for many years and done other tub shower units

Been looking at these but the plastic edging is what gets me. Only thing keeping water out is a bead of silicone. Do not like that idea that much.

Were you installing the Castico base or another product? How did it come out?

I have an opinion! I install shower doors for a living and this thing is a nightmare! It “crowns” about 3” in from the edge. Then it slopes out. It’s a great idea, but doesn’t have enough slope. I put in a heavy glass shower door and it leaks all over the place. I agree it looks and feels nice but I will be installing additional metal pieces to help seal it. It does pool in the corners.

I install these all the time. Work perfectly fine. It is very important that the subfloor is perfectly flat. no more than a 1/16th off. Its also very important that the walls be square and plumb. As long as you square out your walls and level the subfloor so the base installs flat it works perfectly fine.
