Can you show a picture so we know what sort of Hibiscus it is? Also tell us your geographical location and the temperatures reached in the garage and in the ’cold snap’. Did you water it over winter?

I’m afraid that looks like a lost cause. It looks like a tropical Hibiscus. Did it it survive outdoors where you lived before?

give it a month or two of proper watering.. and lets see if it can come back ... though i agree with flora... it might not surprise me if it did ..

if it doesnt.. just get another ... they arent that uncommon ... and then you can still have your memories ...

and get a smaller one.. so you can move it in and out of the house easier ...

I live in upstate SC, zone 7

Tropical hibiscus - Hibiscus rosa-sinensis - are very sensitive to cold temperatures and have virtually NO frost tolerance. They are a zone 10 plant. You can expect some leaf loss at 40F and partial dieback at 35F. A drop much lower than that for any length of time (like overnight) could result in plant death.

I was told it was a hardy hibiscus but just to be safe we always brought it inside for winter.. just sad I've lost the one I've kept alive for 10 years.

Hardy only if you live somewhere like Hawaii, I’m afraid.

I keep my mine indoors, except during summer when it's happier outdoors.
