I agree it is bland..in a basement i think color is more important

How do you feel about it as "art" rather than just something to fill space?

If you like abstracted painterly sketches of dunes and the water, I think it's fine, properly framed.

If the subject doesn't mean anything to you much one way or the other maybe look for something with a little more color. I think the size is fine, and I like seascapes so I think it works.

I agree with Pal. It's fine, but do you love it? I firmly believe that art should never be chosen because it "goes" with other elements of the space, but because you love it and want to see it every day. That's how you create a unique and personal home.

There is nothing wrong per se, with artwork that goes with the colors in the room. Even some very important paintings were originally commissioned to go in certain rooms or have certain colors, but as Kaya says, it be nice if it was also something you liked looking at as well, and that possibly, could be more important than how colorful it is.

The pictures over the sofa are prints of photos I took on vacation in CA and HI so those have meaning to me. I was looking for something to fit with those colors/vibes to being cohesiveness to the other side of the room.

I like it, but would prefer to see it, framed, over the sectional and the three photos by the island.

Pillows and accents to compliment it will make a big difference, too.

I think it works and will look significantly better when framed.

I like the print over the sofa, and as I mentioned, get some of the great dark green of the beach grass in the mix.

Its all pretty beige and neutral. I think it blends in with what you have if thats what you are going for.
