White Cabinet Paint Advice- Chantilly Lace or Oxford White?

Hi, we recently updated our counters and will soon be painting our cabinets. I am struggling to choose between chantilly lace or oxford white. I'm concerned that Chantilly will be too stark, but worry about Oxford being a tad dingy? We painted samples, and they both seem to look good. Our counters are Silestone eternal calacutta gold, and backsplash will be bedrosian's cloe tile in white with white grout. The counters are pretty white, not off white. The kitchen faces east, and we get a decent amount of natural light. Any opinions welcome, and also I have not come across a lot of pictures of oxford white/ white heron in use for cabinets, especially with white counters. Our floor is beige, which I think is throwing me off a bit from Chantilly lace, but someday (not anytime too soon) we will replace that. Walls are accessible beige, but again that isn't necessarily permanent, depending on how I like the paint with white cabinets.

THANKS!

What a nice kitchen! I prefer chantilly lace for trim work. If you could please hold both samples against tile and counters and post that would really help

I have same backsplash with dark grout. I find it sets it off better and easier to clean. Just a thought.

Thanks! Here is a quick photo of my painted samples. Will try to get a better photo with paint, counter and tile later. Chantilly is on top, Oxford bottom in eastern morning light.

I think your kitchen looks great leaving cabinets as is unless there is damage we cannot see. Select new flooring first to work with your countertops, adjacent flooring, style. Then go to the paint because you have a gazillion more options to coordinate all.

I‘m sure this isnt the best way to take this picture, but oxford on left, Chantilly on right

I would make sure all the lighting is LED 4000K before choosing any other color of anything in thta space . You should have even waited for the backsplash but now IMO the beige will have a huge effect on the cabinet color II eould wait to paint the cabinets until the floors are done the cabinets look fine now and I think to spend the money to have them painted the right color now will be a mistake I would start by painting the walls maybe a nice soft grayed green it will work with the cabinets now and later . I really would have advised waiting to do anything in thta space but now you are here so slow down or this will be a huge waste of money.

Patricia, maybe you should slow down and use some punctuation and spell check? Now, to the OP, you will have a lot of different whites competing with one another: cabinets, counter, backsplash. Something is bound to clash. What would you think about finding the cabinet paint that matches your new counters perfectly and selecting something else for the backsplash that better complements the existing floor which you are keeping? Tie it together with some fabulous new hardware and your kitchen will look brand new. Good luck!

It looks like you already have a four inch backsplash already so i would skip tiles. Lately , I much prefer the no busy tile grout lines in kitchens. I do believe a new floor will serve you better than painted caninets.

It is actually not a 4 inch backsplash, but I see that it may look like that in the pictures. We tore out our old counters that had a 4 inch backsplash, so that is white paint from long before we moved in.

For a little more background, here my inspiration picture from someone on Houzz. I took a screenshot and unfortunately forget whose kitchen it is to give proper credit! She has our counters, this backsplash, and chantilly lace cabinets. Most people on a previous thread chose Chantilly cabinets with this counter. I thought I was set on that and then started testing out a similar color that is just a tad less stark. So I do believe that all those whites tie in together. I do get that the floor needs to change, but we will most likely be extending our hardwood floors into the kitchen and refinished our existing ones, so that is a project at a later time. I totally get that some thing we should do that first, but for me, the bright cabinets are what I am personally more excited about.

I am no professional, nor am I looking to start a blog on my new white kitchen :) But I do understand the feedback I'm getting, so thank you.

    *some think, not some thing.

I like the chantilly best. I had considered Oxford but to my eye I it always seems too cool

I just used Chantilly Lace for all cabinets, built-ins, trim and ceilings in the house we built. My kitchen faces north with large windows and CL was the one white that stayed clean and crisp in that light.

I had used BM Simply White in my previous house and was happy with that color too.

The inspiration photo looks great. I would just stick with your plan.

My only issue is the black side of your refrigerator is really going to stand out once you paint everything white. Unfortunately you have that soffit or you could have added a white side panel and moved the cabinet above the fridge further out.
