So sorry, that does not look good at all. To me, builder should have contacted glass company when the issue was identified because now that it's been modified builder owns the glass. I think both builder and glass company can only come up with solutions at this point, unless you insist on builder redoing the job with new glass. Honestly, not sure why the glass was installed at this point until after the flooring was done, to me it would be last. Hope some pros can offer professional opinions to be of better help. Hackery at its finest. Tempered glass cannot be effectively modified and polishing the edge is almost impossible. No way would I accept that. Why is the contractor installing that? It should ONLY be installed by the glass shop that measured and had the glass fabricated or fabricated themselves. And definitely not installed until the tile work is 100% finished. Glass is typically last.

Hi Millworkman - the floor is not complete for a good reason. This new shower was completed and we had them test it and it leaked down to the first floor kirchen. The entire pan was redone with supervision from Schluter. The tile outisde the shower was left out so we can do one final test fo ensure water does not extend betond the track/ glass.

They built a leaky shower and then installed glass like amateurs? Sounds like you will have to be very vigilant about everything this builder does. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

We actually told them before they redid the shower the glass was “chipped “and they didnt see it all these months until they started to reinstall the same shower glass which had to be removed. We brought it to their atrentikn again and stopped them now as they want to polish it and rework it but we insisted we meet with them and the glass installer this Tuesday.

So it seems like everyone is saying it should be replaced and is not acceptable ?

Yes replace on builder’s dime.
