A low bookcase on the side of the dining table, where you can put a bowl for keys, and underneath have bins for shoes and other things if you need it, especially for guests. The bookcase will separate the dining area and create that sense of an entry space. Perhaps change the ceiling light to a small pendant to give the entry a focus.

Rug & plant could define the area.

I would like a really narrow entry table near the door. I also like the potted plant idea.

There are shelving as room divider. And rug/runner would help.

I wouldn't fill up the space. Although not defined, it still feels like a foyer because much room you have.

Leave it as is.

You could easily just add a runner and a plant. However if you want a more defined entryway, they sell mudroom "hall trees" that you could look into getting and defining the space between the entryway and dining room that way. You could also look into getting some sort of divider, like you see in our second image.
