how did you trim the floors where it meets the walls?

We live in a santa fe style home and just removed wall to wall carpeting and replaced with hardwood flooring but need to cover the expansion gap and are trying to decide what to do. We have flagstone in all the other rooms and no baseboards. Thanks for your thoughts. DF

This project was an extensive renovation- we removed all the existing flooring down to subfloor level. We then installed this fantastic rustic engineered wood flooring. We cut the flooring very closely to the plaster walls so that we had only 1/8 " clearance between the wood flooring and the walls. We then filled the 1/8" gap with a colored caulk that matched the flooring.

Thank you so much for your reply to my dilemma! I was hoping there would be an alternative to quarter round. DF
