Lighting for kitchen table

Thinking of using this type of light for kitchen table. Do these throw good light into the room or is it just down on the table? The only pictures I'm finding out there have a lot of background light in the rest of the room so it's hard to tell.

will not be very good light. the vintage edison bulbs altho cute and atmospheric are not the best...and this is exposed [no glass globe around] so you need the decorative bulb as opposed to a regular LED bulb say with a seeded glass shade. altho the six in this pic is too many it shows a real LED bulb can be used with a shade so you can increase the lumens. a few other styles so increasing lumens w less emphasis on the vintage bulb allows you to reach your goal. always better to have recessed lights at the ceiling as well. maybe a side hutch with a buffet lamp can help you if you cant do a ceiling lighting upgrade.
