I absolutely agree with you re: the quality of West Elm. Full disclosure: I found this chair by google imaging “eames inspired chair.” So you could always go with the classic Eames Lounge Chair. Although they are ubiquitous to the point of being cliché in Palm Springs, so perhaps you are looking for something a bit different.
