My friend bought a new house and closed about a month ago. There are several established roses, all planted by the original owner (house built in 1998). The last owner (past 6 years) did no rose care. I haven't been to visit yet, so she's been sending me pics. One is intriguing. When she sent me the first pics, I noticed the very long sepals, and lots of prickles on the peduncles and buds. Having never grown a moss rose myself, I had her brush them with her hand to see if they had any fragrance, but no. Below are 3 pics at various stages. Unfortunately, they're remodeling the kitchen, so she missed the "beauty shot" stage of the bloom. I'll post the pics right below.
