How much space is between the washer/dryer and the wall with the entrance door? What is your budget?

You can gain a lot of storage and floor space by removing the metal shelf unit, installing a closed upper cabinet above the sink, corner shelves above the dryer and enclosing the sink in a cabinet. Install either closed cabinets or an open shelf around the perimeter of the room close to the ceiling for more storage which will also free up floor space so you can use your machines and room more efficiently.

Store the bulky, lighter items and infrequently used items on the high shelves in labeled plastic bins or baskets. If you choose shelves over closed cabinets, having labeled matching bins or baskets will allow you to find things easily and keep it looking nice. You can stow a step stool between the wall and the dryer.

Use the space under the shelves too. Move the mops and brooms under the corner shelves by the dryer for easy access and where the dryer will partially hide them. You can install a rod under the high shelf on the wall opposite the dryer so you can hang clothes after taking them out of the machines. Keep things high so you don't restrict the floor space or bang your head on anything protruding out.

Last thing, you can move the hat rack and keys to an over the door hook system. Keep the hooks relatively short so the door will lie flat when it's open. Add a rug, fun light fixture, Roman shade and maybe some plants for the window sill to keep it from being too utilitarian.
