Those are beautiful Kay! I am just watching my Fern Stone scape grow bigger. I would think it is 2 weeks from blooming, but we are expecting 80 degree temps for the next week, so it may speed up. I thought my Multiple Multiplications died last year. It is an early bloomer, and I just spotted scapes on one that I did not think was MM. Can't remember what it is, and those darn gnomes lifted the tag. Bet it is MM though. I just don't have many plants that scape this early.

Nice post Kay. The clump of Marseilles Watercolor is beautiful. All the pics are wonderful. Glad to see your season progressing. Did Tahiti Sweetie come back for you? All the ones you sent me are growing okay. I sprayed all the plants with Bobbex again. Stinky but works.

Thank you for looking and commenting. Julia, not only is Tahiti Sweetie back, but it has a couple of scapes on it. Marseilles Watercolor has been blooming along, but a clump is too much fun to miss. Nancy, I watched Fernstone for a good while before it bloomed here. No doubt heat does help, Kate, but rain is always what makes so many bloom, and we aren;;t getting any rain at all here. I will start watering this week, no doubt. I always like to walk through the garden and see what might be next and it appears that Diver Down is about ready to open its first bloom.

Im impressed Kay, a nice clump shot already! M Water Color is such a pretty bloom. it looks like we skipped spring for the time being. going from the 50’s to 90 this week, sheesh. next week looks closer to normal temps here.

Thank you, sherry. We have been well above normal for most of April and all of May so far and as forecast for the next ten days. We are in the 90s this week. The lilies don't mind heat, but they do mind not having rain. I will water in the next day or so which helps, but it isn't rain.

They daylilies are looking great! I think Bold Awakening is my favorite. I like the gradiation of color in the eye. Both of your clematises are gorgeous!

What a saturated red on Betty Ford. Very pretty. I've always liked Intelligent Design too. It seems to bloom well. Texas Carnival Dance is interesting. Haven't seen that before..........Maryl

Thank you, Debra and Maryl. I really like both of the ones you mention. Bold Awakening is a very pretty one and Betty Ford always has that red and sun doesn't bother it much which is good. I have had TCD several years and it is a much better bloomer now than the first few years.

My daylilies are almost a month away from blooming. Perhaps I need to get some EE bloomers. Peonies seem late this year except for the tree Peonies. Ezra Pound 1st year for me:

After a few years of no blooms and a couple of years of being left for dead - I removed it from its prime real estate and just left it on the top of the soil above a terrace. Immortality is finally strutting its stuff. I think it knew it was headed to the trash heap this year.

She was the first to bloom here but the rest are on their way.

I may have gotten a little carried away here. I really like Louisiana Jones. Probably why I picked up Entwined in the Vine this year (It had nothing to do with seeing everyone else's pics in the alphabet). But LJ seems to have a little more saturated color. I also like Intelligent Design. It was on my list this winter but didn't make the final cut.

Steve, that clematis is gorgeous, and love the peonies. I had trouble with Inmortality for 5 years. It multiplied but no blooms at all for 3 of those years, and only in the spring. I moved it under a tree and it has bloomed and rebloomed every year. The fan or 2 that got left behind has bloomed too. ??? A local iris expert told me that Immortality can be very picky if it does not have just the right spot. Maybe it just likes a challenge.

I did move it out of full sun to a spot under an oak tree that still gets a lot of sun in the spring with the lower sun angle and the tree not leafed out yet. Plus I just dumped it on top of the soil. I always plant the corms at the surface but this time I just put the whole root ball on top. Its no longer on the slope either so perhaps it is getting more water.
