What a difference...

only 4 weeks make. As every spring I'm a little overwhelmed how fast hostas take over :-)

A seedling from a friend, named La Fontana

Two of my own seedlings, Jakob's Sunny Day and Jakob's Day Dreamer. They are nice after 4 years and I'm thinking of new seedlings in winter...

Ann, you always have interesting visitors :-) I wish I could find some Creeping Jenny over here. I had it years ago, but wherever I look, nowone has it.

I'll trade you Creeping Jenny plants for just having access to those Valley Hostas. I love seeing you post those and the beautiful little neighborhoods you have created. Your Hosta look so happy. With the crazy spring we've had hot then cold, super wet then hot again Some of my Hosta are showing signs of distress and many of them don't seem to be as big as I think they should be, but there's still time for them. I'm really loving this Spring though walking around and seeing some of my earlier plantings starting to mature. In fact, I think I'll go on a little garden stroll right now!

Karin..I'm looking at your pictures again while I have morning coffee..I love them 🙂..

the Valley's corner is gorgeous..what a nice place to sit and enjoy the view..

come by anytime and get some Creeping Jenny 😂..I've seen Creeping Jenny here in annual combination pots..that could be a way to find some..living here with wildlife is a joy..but the squirrels are a pain in the neck 🙁..

Laurie..yes my garden is up and running!..it still amazes me how FAST everything grows back..I battled with 'Clausa' yesterday..the roots are so strong..yet it looks dainty and easy to dig..how deceiving!..it's the toughest hosta I've ever worked with..

    steve duggins,

the weather is crazy over here too. We only had rain once in more than 6 weeks and not much of it. When I'm driving around with my bike I see little dust devils which I only know from films about the American deserts...I water every second day, it is hot and the wind is stormy. Not the perfect spring conditions for hosta anymore. We had a lot of problems with hosta that came out very small last year, it happenend all over Europe and there were also many losses that could not be explained. But the small ones from last year came back normal this year. I need to install the shade protection this weekend...

As I sold nearly 50% of the collection last year I made room for new beauties which come out nicely this year.

Karin I always enjoy your posts so much!! You have such a variety of hostas that we across the pond don’t have access to. All those neighborhoods (as Steve said) you have created are just wonderful! A different spot to relax each day with a different view!
