Lysimachia clethroides ?

That’s what I suspected, but some others say the leaves aren‘t right so I came here to double check.

The leaves don't look right for gooseneck loosestrife to me either. I grow this plant as well and just went to check mine out. These are much too wide and with a different veining pattern compared to mine.

I’m asking for someone else and they landed on Persicaria based on a plant ID app. What do you all think?

TBH, persicaria or something in the Polygonaceae was my first thought but it doesn't match any I am familiar with. And most of those have alternate leaves, while the photo is showing opposite foliage.

It looks like alternate leaf arrangement to me? Pokeweed?

Polygonum virginiana?

The only Persicaria species that matches is Persicaria orientalis. There is a white flowered variety. Look familiar?

Persicaria virginiana, is also a possibility. It grows everywhere here, and I grow it in my gardens. The leaves on orientalis seem to match the OPs plant in largeness and loose texture, where the leaves of virginiana seem smaller, stiffer, and slightly conduplicate. The flowers of both species are distinctly different. The person with these can compare the flowers of both species and recall from memory which species it is. It would seem more likely that the native virginiana would make its way there in it's own, while the orientalis would have to have been introduced. You may be correct.

Leaf measurements max. : (orientalis 6" × 10.5"), (virginiana 3.5" × 6").

The petioles of virginiana are short, and orientalis has longer petioles.

I followed up, but she seems to be sure it’s jumpseed after some googling.

She said it gets 2-3 ft tall and the flowers in Jay’s pics do not match

This species has a new genus name Antenoron, and there are 2 varieties, Antenoron virginiana var. glaberrima, and Antenoron virginiana var. virginiana. 😬

It's ok if you prefer to continue calling it Persicaria. 😁

There is a strong argument for placing Persicaria virginiana into Antenoron. The other NA Persicaria stay Persicaria, and only virginiana is being changed and placed in Antenoron along with 3 Asian species.
