Window install metro DC

Hello all, I have a question regarding our new window install. We decided to do a full tear out and replace all the extrrior and interior trim. My question: The few estimates i received said they put flashing tape on the sides, top, and the bottom of nail flange,. Is the bottom nail flange normally taped?

No it is not taped. Any moisture that happens to get in their needs to have a path out.

If I had to guess, I would say the contractors you spoke with meant they are flashing the rough sill, not taping the bottom flange. Just a hunch but I would ask them.
