Thank you, gyr_falcon. That's the consensus of a FB group I posted to as well. The group is split about 50/50 as to whether or not to keep it. Some say it's invasive, others say it's a high value plant loved by wildlife. Now I guess I'll read up on it and decide if it stays or not. It's in the perfect location; just where I need a plant to fill in and block the view of the house across the street.

imo. anything that gratuitously plants itself in your yard.. IS INVASIVE .... on some level ...

in 50 years of gardening... i can think of MAYBE 2 things that did such.. that were actually of value.. otherwise.. they were all PIA weeds. ... [and dont ask me what they were .. lol ]

and never forget.. where you find one... expect to find dozens more sooner or later ...

Since you need the plant to block a poor view, perhaps you should choose to replace the seedling with something else. These baccharis tend to look a bit ratty as they age, and they only live 10-16ish years. For visual screening purposes, you probably would not want to have to keep replacing a shrub on such a frequent timetable, because it will take time for the replacement to be effective at the screening role.

I would vote remove, produces a very high number of seeds, they spread rampantly.
