Yep, looks just like my ZZ plants. Very hardy, which is great for someone like me who is notorious for killing house plants.

I had a ZZ plant for about 7 years. Loved the glossy leaves, every year transplanted to a larger pot. It was probably 5-6 ft tall. Gave some away…very hardy. Then, over one winter it wept resin like sap all over our sunroom window and hardwood floor. It took a fast trip to the woods, and clean up was very difficult. Enjoy it, but watch for any weeping!

why did it weep all of a suddeen?

My suspicion would be that the weeping was honeydew, a residue excreted by an infestation of scale or aphids, rather than sap from the plant.

Usually, you can propagate plants easily. Take a leaf, put it buried an inch or so deep in damp sand or potting soil. A little rooting hormone helps. Or a bit of stem, if that strip off or cut in half any leaves. Before putting it in soil, let the sap dry

Ohh, floral, thank you. I thought perhaps it was stressed over the winter, from moving from our screened in porch to inside for the winter, or perhaps it needed a bigger pot.

i would probably just harvest a cutting or 2 from the office plant ... ken
